I humbly disagree. A school board deciding that they would “allow” free speech is no cause for celebration. The First and Second Amendments acknowledge sacrosanct freedoms inherent to all mankind. They prohibit government from infringing upon those rights. The Board should have apologized on behalf of the school and the errant teacher for violating Jaiden’s rights to begin with. This isn’t a nanny state, despite what our liberal friends mistakenly believe. It is a nation of free men and women whose inalienable rights are “endowed by their Creator,” and cannot be usurped by an out-of-control government.
