Linda Sun 5 岁的时候跟随父母从中国来到美国，是归化的第一代移民。她在位于曼哈顿的 Barnard College 获得政治学学士学位（2002-2006），在哥伦比亚大学获得高等教育管理硕士学位（2008-2009）。
纽约州州长 Kathy Hochul 办公室已经作出了回应，说因 Linda Sun 违反了州政府行为准则于 2023 年将其开除。从 Linda Sun 的 linkin 简历中可以看出，她 2023 年 5 月至 2024 年 1月份还帮助 Austin Cheng 竞选纽约第三区国会议员，没有成功。
